2. Hold Your Phone Horizontally
Just like using a wide-angle lens, holding your phone horizontally allows you to capture a wider angle. As we mentioned before, the wider the angle, the more you can see.

3. Keep the Camera at Waist or Chest Level
This may sound surprising, but keeping the camera at waist/chest level is actually far more efficient than shooting higher up. Although you may thing that a higher angle captures more of the room, it actually distorts the proportions of the room. The best way to shoot is at waist/chest level because it mimics the way the human eye would take in the room.

4. Shoot With Lights Off When Possible
Artificial light sources tend to alter the colors in images. If you have experience in photo editing, you may be able to fix this; but if you are shooting cell phone photos last minute, you are more than likely not going to have time to edit your colors either. However, if you happen to be shooting your photos later in the evening or during a dark and stormy day, artificial light is obviously better than no light.

5. Keep Vertical Lines Vertical
Vertical lines provide balance to your images. By making sure everything Is vertical, your images will look appealing rather than distorted. The best way to do this, is to ensure that the edge of your camera is parallel to the vertical lines in the room you are shooting.
